Corrections, additions and “you have us listed wrong” — all to the same inbox.
If you are a management company
Two useful things you can send us. First, a correction: tell us which page and which claim, and we will re-read your site. Second, a published fee — if you print a rate, a basis or a contract length publicly, we will quote it, because publishing terms counts in your favour under our criteria.
What we cannot do is add a company that publishes no verifiable service area, or upgrade a placement on request.
If you are an owner
Tell us which market you own in and what the shortlist here missed. Market pages get re-read when somebody tells us they are wrong.
What a useful correction looks like
The fastest corrections we make all have the same shape: the page, the exact claim, and a link to the source that shows it is wrong. With those three things we can re-read and fix within the day. Without them we have to reconstruct what you mean, which is slower for both of us.
We do not need you to be polite about it, and we do not need a rationale. “Your Kīhei page says we cover Wailea; we stopped in March, here is the current page” is a perfect message.
What we will not do, however nicely you ask
- Move a company up a ranking. Positions are not for sale and never have been.
- Remove a competitor from a market page because you disagree with them being there.
- Publish a fee, an occupancy figure or a claim we cannot read from a primary source.
- Add a company that publishes no verifiable service area anywhere we can read.
- Write a bespoke profile in exchange for anything.
None of that is standoffishness. It is the whole reason the site is worth reading: the moment a placement can be bought or removed by request, every other page becomes unreliable too.
If you are an owner with a story rather than a correction
Those are welcome and they change pages more often than you would think. What worked, what went wrong, what a manager did on the worst week of the year, what you wish you had asked before signing — that is the raw material for the local questions at the top of each market page. We do not publish individual accounts as reviews of named companies, because we cannot verify them and it would turn the site into a complaints board. We do use them to sharpen the questions.
Press, research and reuse
If you want to quote a table, a market page or the dataset behind them, ask and say what for. The answer is usually yes with attribution and a link. If you are researching Hawaiʻi's rental market, we are also happy to explain the methodology in more detail than the public page does — including the companies we could not verify and why.
Things readers ask that we can answer by email
- Which of the companies on a given market page publish the specific service you are looking for — we have read all of their pages and can point you at the relevant one.
- Whether we know of any manager covering a market where our list is empty. Sometimes we do and have not been able to verify them; we will say so and tell you what we could not confirm.
- What we could not verify about a specific company, and why it is missing from a page.
- How we would frame a particular question to a manager — the local questions on the market pages started as answers to emails like that.
Things we genuinely cannot answer
Whether your property may be rented nightly. What your tax position is. Whether a particular company is good. What your property would earn. The first two belong to your county and the Hawaiʻi Department of Taxation and are specific to your parcel; the third is not something a website can establish; the fourth is a projection, and we do not publish projections. Asking us will get you an honest "we don't know" and a pointer to whoever does.
Anonymity, if you need it
Owners sometimes have something useful to say about a manager they are still contracted to. Tell us that you want the information used without your name and it will be. We do not publish individual accounts as reviews of named companies in any case — we cannot verify them and it would turn the site into a complaints board — but they do change which questions we put at the top of a market page, and that is a durable improvement rather than a one-off complaint.
Response times
This is a small desk. Corrections with a source attached are handled first and usually the same day. Everything else gets read within a few days. If something is urgent — a factual error that could cost somebody money — say so in the subject line and it moves to the front.
Not affiliated with Ad 2 Hawaiʻi
If you are trying to reach Ad 2 Hawaiʻi, you are in the wrong place — see our non-affiliation statement for where to go. We cannot forward messages to them, and we would rather tell you that immediately than let a message sit unanswered.
Before you write
One request that saves a round trip: include the URL of the page you are writing about. Market pages, company profiles and guides all cross-reference each other, and the same company can appear on a dozen pages, so “your Kīhei page” and “your Rentals Maui page” are different corrections with different fixes. With the link in hand we can re-read the source immediately instead of writing back to ask which page you meant.
There is no contact form on this site, deliberately. A form would mean collecting and storing what you type before you have decided to send it, and the privacy position here is that we do not hold reader data we do not need. An email address is older, plainer and entirely under your control: you can see exactly what you are sending, to whom, and keep your own copy of it.
